Now that this 2007/08 Venetian Bay season is complete, we really, really, really wish to thank ALL of the Parents, Players and Coaches for the most totally successful year in the 10 season history of our  family.

We would like to especially thank our Venetian Bay Volleyball Club Coaches. As a group they accomplished much and have tons to be proud of. THANK YOU for YOUR commitment, to rush to practice after work, to take your Saturday and Sundays up with volleyball, to answer parent questions, players skill needs, doing so over 4 months and STILL holding your real full time job! You did it!! THANK YOU!!!!

Beyond this season, we feel the Venetian Bay Volleyball Club players will have fond memories when reflecting back on the all of the good times, the hard times, the tough times and all of the times. We all should be proud knowing the positive impact left on our athletes through the sport of Venetian Bay Volleyball Club.

Next year, we hope to start a team as young as 8 years old up to the 18's division. This summer we will continue our little spikers program for those from 6 to 13 yrs. Old on Monday nights starting June 9th. High School players will be able to become better players as they coach the young kids to be as good as they have become. Stay posted on our website as more info will follow.

We also look forward to you returning next season ready to meet the challenge again!

Overall, Venetian Bay Volleyball Club did excellent in the Florida Region Championship events, National Qualifying events, and in the season as a whole. Many of our competitive teams finished in upper spots for their age respective groups from 12s to 17s in the open and club divisions.

For the 2007-2008 season, we had our strongest performance across a 10 season history, since 1998, not only with the outstanding competitive team finishes, but also providing unsurpassed opportunities for over 60 young women to play competitive club volleyball.

Perhaps most importantly, while the reporting of our season performance is exciting for all of the teams, coaches, players and parents that participated with these teams, we would be remiss in not recognizing the success of ALL of our players.

The growth and progression of ALL of our players as volleyball athletes, their growth and knowledge of the sport, their development as young people learning about teamwork, commitment, working together, discipline, tolerance and respect for others, and sportsmanship, is...in the end what the Venetian Bay Volleyball program wants to deliver.

Once again, thanks again for a fantastic season and good luck to everyone next fall at their respective middle and high schools throughout the region!!!!

 Volleyball Camp

Venice & Sarasota Girls Volleyball Camp

What a week we had in youth volleyball at the 15th annual Wild West camp. It was truly amazing to see the way youth volleyball has really exploded in Venice. We had over 80 kids ranging from kindergarten to 8th graders having a great time at camp. It is amazing to look back over the years to see how far ahead some of our younger kids are compared to back then. I remember the 1st annual when we had about 20 kids and went from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday. It was pretty exhausting. I want to thank our camp counselors who made the week a total success. Jillian Allen, Whitney Steranko, Dorothy Rahal, Kaylee Ream, Ashley Graf, Jessica Costanzo, Brittany Burrows, and Kelsey McNamee. Coach Lanham and myself were so impressed with the way they handled themselves throughout the week. They were role models that that our campers looked up to each day. They were extremely positive and energetic. Whitneys wacky wierdo's came up big in the last match against Jessica's Hot Tamales to take the the camp championship While Ashley's Hippies won the spirit award. This camp is all about getting young girls to learn to love to play the sport of volleyball and have a passion for it. It was really cool to watch our counselors keep their teams up and energetic when their team was struggling. I think it was one of our best camps ever because of how well the kids responded to the coaches
