Colleen CavanaughColleen Cavanaugh is a native of Port Charlotte where she was first team all-area and all county her junior and senior year.  She went on to Brevard Community College where she was ranked NJCAA  no. 1 in the state of Florida for Defense ‘97/’98 and ranked 6th in the Nation for Defense.  Brevard went onto the State Finals both years.  In 1999 and 2000 she coached the Cocoa Beach High School team.  She also assisted Coach Harlen Cohen (former Pepperdine Coach) in several clinics and camps from 1992 to 95.  This is her first year coaching at Venetian Bay

Harold MackHarold Mack, a native of Punta Gorda, was Head Volleyball Coach at Charlotte High until 2003 where he posted an impressive record including three district championships. Coach Mack has been coaching with Venetian Bay for 7 years

Michelle GortonMichelle Gorton is a native of Port Charlotte , where she was a three sport athlete at Port Charlotte High. She received a volleyball scholarship to Division I Western Carolina U where she played Middle blocker and both left and right side hitter, winning several volleyball and academic awards, including graduating Cum Laude with a BS in Recreational Therapy. Michelle now teaches Physical Education at Murdock Middle School and is JV and Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach at Port Charlotte High. This is her fourth year with Venetian Bay.

Stefanie PetersStefanie Peters is coaching for her second year with Venetian Bay. She is also the head coach of the freshmen team at Venice HS and helps with varsity as well. She is originally from a suburb of Dallas, TX and graduated from Denton HS. She played outside hitter on a full scholarship at Western Carolina University with her assistant Michelle Gorton. Highlights of playing high school volleyball include winning both District MVP and District Offensive Player of the year and being District champs every year. At WCU, beating the University of Tennessee in 4 games and being on several All Tournament teams (Western Carolina, Campbell, and Clemson tournament) were some of her highlights.

Jay LanhamJay Lanham played Club volleyball in college and has coached for over 6 years starting as assistant at Anderson U in Indiana. Jay now resides in Venice and teaches PE and coaches at Heron Creek Middle School plus coaches JV and Freshman volleyball at Venice High. This is his third year coaching for Venetian Bay

Briana PeacockBriana Peacock is a native of Venice where she starred at setter for Venice High. Briana went on to play 2 years at Pasco Hernando CC then 2 years at Campbell University where she still holds defensive and assist records. She was an assistant coach at Campbell for one year and was coach of Club Raleigh's 17s for one year before moving back to Venice. She was Freshman Volleyball Coach for Venice High in 2002 and has coached for Venetian Bay for the past six years.

Becky HalbertOriginally from San Diego, CA Coach Halbert played at UC Santa Cruz as an outside hitter. She has coached boys and girls at Mission Hill Middle school in Santa Cruz and for Club Aloha Wahine in San Diego. She graduated from UCF in May 2005 with a Master’s in School & Mental Health Counseling. This past June, she had a beautiful wedding ceremony on the beach. She is currently living in North Port where she is a guidance counselor and also the head Varsity coach. This is her third year coaching with Venetian Bay.

Kristen BattKristen Batt, 24, graduated from Venice High School in 1999. She played volleyball on the 1998 state championship team and was player of the year for Florida. She played Varsity four years at the University of Kentucky, was named to the SEC all tournament team her freshman year and was named to the 1st team all tournament at Nationals. Kristen graduated from Kentucky with a BS of Degree in Family and Consumer Science and Early Childhood Education. After graduation she played club volleyball on a team that came in 2nd in the nation, coached at Nelson County High School in 2003 and coached DOWVA club volleyball in Lexington, KY in 2004. In her first year with Venetian Bay, she lives in Venice and works as an Early Childhood Specialist. In her spare time she enjoys playing beach volleyball and spending time with friends and family.
